These three figures are from the original production period. This mold was retired circa 1961, so these figures date to sometime between 1955 and 1961. The figures pictured are molded in standard Marx original-issue gray, although they are commonly seen in light green as well. The Brontosaurus above has been painted by persons unknown (certainly not by the factory) but he was originally gray. When mold PL749 was retired, Tyrannosaurus (a) was replaced by Tyrannosaurus (b), a completely new version. Brontosaurus (a) was replaced by a nearly identical version from the "revised" mold. Kronosaurus went extinct. None of these figures (Tyrannosaurus (a), Brontosaurus (a), and Kronosaurus) were reissued, although all the other Marx prehistoric figures were reissued starting in 1971. Of course, the (b) versions of Tyrannosaurus and Brontosaurus were reissued, but poor ol' Kronosaurus stayed dead.
