These were donated to the Rubber Dino Museum by a person who wishes to remain anonymous, and to that end bound me to a cataclysmic oath of secrecy. I can't see why, actually. Inexplicable as these things are, they're not really all that bad. The story is that they were Pizza Hut premiums in the late 1980s, and there were four in the series, though my benefactor didn't eat enough pizza in those days to get them all. They must have been some sort of TV tie-in. They are made of blow-molded rubber. Construction and finish quality are exceptional. UPDATE March 31, 2003 - Alert reader CZaphodB42 notes that these figures "seem to be from the animated movie The Land Before Time." (Hmmm .... I must have missed that one ....)
Nice detail on the back of that olive-drab guy
Blow molding makes a nice thin-walled part, with good surface detail on the outside |
