Six of these seven figures are from the original production period, sometime between 1955 and 1964, and are in the standard early Marx colors, gray or light green. The Plateosaurus to the left (the guy in light gray) is a post-1971 reissue. (I have an original issue one somewhere around here .... UPDATE - found the little bugger - not really worth redoing the photo, though).
This mold had two cavities to make Dimetrodon, and two to make Plateosaurus. The two versions of each are almost identical. These figures were reissued in the early 1970s. The plastic is slightly different from that of the original issues, and the colors - light gray, light green, or reddish-brown - were different. The reissue figures are otherwise identical (well, more or less) to the originals. Here they are, reissued in light gray.
